Want to learn to dive in Cairns, the home of the Great Barrier Reef? With world class instructors and a five-star dive school, this is a convenient and affordable PADI Open Water Diver course.
You’ll have two days of pool training at our Cairns learn to dive facility, as well as two memorable day trips to the outer Great Barrier Reef. These day trips are the perfect place to enhance your skills at two stunning reef sites with colourful and abundant marine wildlife.
After your four certification dives, you generally also have time for an additional ‘fun dive’ (time permitting). Choose to complete your Cairns learn to dive course in the warm tropical waters and diverse surroundings of the Great Barrier Reef.
Choose to start your course on a Thursday and finish on Sunday, or split it over two consecutive weekends.
Courses are conducted in English. Courses in other languages (German, Japanese and Chinese) are available on request only.

Day 1
09:00: Pick up from your Cairns city accommodation
Morning: Meet your instructor, complete paperwork and begin dive theory.
Lunch is not included, but you can bring a packed lunch or there are plenty of places to eat nearby.
Afternoon
16:00: Tread water test
17:30: Drop off at Cairns city accommodation
Day 2
09:00: Pick up from your Cairns city accommodation
Morning: Continue scuba skills in the pool and complete 200m swim test. Don your wetsuit and equipment for more skills training.
Lunch is not included, but you can bring a packed lunch or there are plenty of places to eat nearby.
Afternoon
17:30: Drop off at Cairns city accommodation
Day 3
07:30: Pick up from Cairns city accommodation
08:30: Set off on a 90 minute cruise to the outer reef
12:00: Enjoy a buffet lunch served on board
12:30: Hit the water for your second dive to refine your skills
14:30: Cruise back to Cairns
17:00: Return to your city accommodation
Day 4
07:30: Pick up from Cairns city accommodation
08:30: Set off on a 90 minute cruise to the outer reef
12:00: Enjoy a buffet lunch served on board
12:30: Put the final polish on your skills before your first dive as a certified diver!
14:30: Cruise back to Cairns
17:00: Return to your city accommodation
