Billy Tea Safaris operates small personalised Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation tours, where the rainforest meets the reef! On this full day Daintree Rainforest tour from Cairns, you will explore all the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation region has to offer.

Sit back and relax in comfort in a custom-built 4WD air-conditioned vehicle while listening to informative and entertaining commentary by your local naturalist guide. Group size is limited for a more personalised experience. As one of the only tour operators to travel on the Bloomfield Track your experience will be like no other. Spot crocodiles on a Daintree River cruise, learn about flora, fauna and the history of the Daintree on a guided boardwalk tour, take a 4WD ride through a World Heritage-listed rainforest on the rugged Bloomfield Track, savour a traditional Aussie barbecue, sample traditional ‘Aussie’ billy tea, damper and tropical fruits in the company of wallabies and enjoy a homemade Daintree ice-cream on your journey home.

  •  Lunch has been moved to the Cape Tribulation Beach House restaurant so that each passenger is served individually rather than our usual BBQ in the rainforest
  • Temporarily no tropical fruits platter, damper or Billy Tea
  • Daintree Ice-Cream Company is temporarily closed and therefore we will not be able to stop here. We are stopping for an ice-cream at an alternative location. Ice-cream is at passengers expense.
  • Wallabies – this location is currently closed and therefore this stop is currently unavailable.
  • Cashless – all payments are to made in full prior to travel. You will not be able to pay with cash at any stage throughout the tour.
  • COVID-Safe restrictions for seating within vehicles have eased and therefore social distancing while seated inside our vehicles is not required. Although COVID restrictions have eased for passenger seating, we will ensure to not allow passengers to sit immediately beside other passengers from other bookings or family units.

Daintree Rainforest River Cruise & Morning Tea

our first stop is at the Majestic Daintree River for morning tea (tea, coffee & biscuits) before enjoying an informative guided River Cruise on the Daintree River. Relax and enjoy the splendour only the Daintree Rainforest can offer as you learn of Estuarine Crocodiles, mangrove forests and endemic wildlife, this is nature at its best!

Alexandra Lookout

we make our way up over the Alexandra Range and pause for a panoramic view of World Heritage, Wet Tropics, and Tropical Rainforest merging with the azure colours of the Coral Sea.

Guided Boardwalk Tour

experience the rainforest intimately on one of our guided elevated National Park Boardwalks. Your experienced guide will take you on a wonderful journey through this ancient rainforest whilst giving you an interpretation of flora and fauna and you will have ample time for photographs and questions as we search for the elusive, rare and totally unique Southern Cassowary and other wildlife species within this particular habitat.

Wallabies and Lunch

we now make our way towards an animal refuge centre where you have the opportunity to visit the wallabies, get up close to Eclectus Parrots, Pythons & other native wildlife. We then make our way to Cape Tribulation Beach House for a restaurant lunch.

Emmagen Creek Wildlife Spotting & Swim

we will take you beyond the famous Daintree Tea Plantation, past spectacular mountains and through spectacular World Heritage Rainforest as we pass Cape Tribulation and continue along the 4WD Bloomfield Track through to pristine Emmagen Creek. Billy Tea Safaris is the only tour operator that goes to this secret Jewel in the Rainforest, and now it is time for a refreshing rainforest stream swim, in crystal clear fresh waters and without the crowds of people.

*Traditional Billy Tea, Damper and Tropical Fruits Experience

as you seek fish and turtles in this wonderful Rainforest creek, butterflies and exotic birds in the trees, you will enjoy sampling a cup of traditional Billy Tea, made in a traditional Australian Billy, all of which enhance the tranquil surroundings.

Cape Tribulation Beach

we then make our way to Cape Tribulation Beach after most of the crowds are gone, stroll along the beach and boardwalk to the photographers’ platform overlooking the mountains and coast where the ‘Rainforest meets the Reef.’

Daintree Icecreamery

Daintree’s hidden secret, the Daintree ice creamery. Your taste buds will be tantalised with exotic tropical fruit homemade ice cream. Sample unique flavours, such as Black Sapote, Soursop, Wattle Seed, Jackfruit, and Coconut just to name a few. All the fruits used to make the ice cream have been locally grown on the property and can be purchased at your own expense. This is cash only no EFTPOS. Please note that this stop is currently unavailable due to the temporary closure of the Daintree Ice-Cream Company.
